Sci-Folk represents the flux we currently find ourselves in as human beings. It looks to the future while clinging to the past. We are surrounded by advancements in technology so vast that they sometimes conflict with our humanity. We want to embrace these advancements, but still cling to our connection with the organic in the face of an ever more synthetic world.
Sci-Folk, as I humbly define it, attempts to merge past and future by using technology as a metaphor for the human experience. It’s not just ballads about science fiction — although that’s undoubtedly part of it — hopefully it’s a bridge to understanding our place in a new century that often leaves us bewildered
